Cirrata DIM Basics - Overview
Cirrata DIM is a powerful and
intuitive tool that allows Users to organize and share information with
others in a secure and straightforward manner. Cirrata DIM looks,
feels and acts just like folders on your Microsoft operating system desktop. However,
unlike folders on your desktop, Cirrata DIM Folders are available to you anytime,
anywhere and from any Internet connection and can be shared and protected on
a case by case basis. The Cirrata Repository
is divided into 2 sections: o
Private Area - only for the Cirrata User o
Public Area - area where Cirrata User can
share documents and folders Note: The Public Area, which is a
sub-section of the Private Area is fully controlled by the Cirrata User and
will remain private until it is shared with a specific participant The Cirrata Repository is organized into 4 sub directories: o
Documents - area for the Cirrata User to
keep private documents (Cirrata User only) o
Syncs - area where Mirrored Folders are
kept (Cirrata User only) o
Public - area where User can create sub
directories to be shared with others (Shared) o
Pub-Syncs - mirror of Public Directory to
allow recovery of lost or deleted files (Cirrata User only) YOUR REPOSITORY: To enter your Repository: Cirrata Tool Bar Access: 1. Open the Cirrata Tool
Bar by clicking your mouse on the Cirrata Icon
in the Systems Tray 2. Select Folders 3. Select Web Folder Access 4. An Enter
Network Password Window will appear - enter your User Name and Password and hit OK 5. The Cirrata DIM Window will appear on
the left hand side of your window. Click on your Repository link to Open 6. You should now have access to your
Repository Web Access: 1. Open Internet Explorer 2. Go to Your Cirrata Homepage by
typing in your URL or clicking on the Cirrata link on Your Website 3. Select Content Management 4. An Enter
Network Password Window will appear - enter your User Name and Password and hit OK 5. The Cirrata DIM Window will appear on
the left hand side of your window. Click on your Repository link to Open 6. You should now have Access to your
Cirrata Repository and its folders PUBLIC DIRECTORY: The Public Directory, which is a sub directory of the Cirrata User's Repository, is where a Cirrata User can create folders to be
shared with others To direct a third party to access
the Public Directory: 1. Open Internet Explorer 2. Go to Your Cirrata Homepage by
typing in your URL or clicking on the Cirrata link on Your Website 3. Select Content Management 4. An Enter
Network Password Window will appear - enter the User Name and Password you have given to the third party and hit OK a.
Note: Do not give your personal Username and Password to third parties. See the Cirrata Folder Access Manager section to learn how to set up and
share directories with others. 5. The Cirrata DIM Window will appear on
the left hand side of your window. Click on your Repository link to Open 6. The third party should now have
access to only folders that are available to them in your Public Directory 7. Notes: a. See How to Access and
Navigate in your Cirrata Repository b. A third party user will not have
access to Access
Manager or any other administrative functions c. Folder with a red tab are "read
only" to the user and all other folders are full access d. It is possible to lock yourself
out of a folder. If you do so the folder will not appear in your folder tree.
To correct go into Access Manager and give yourself permission. |
