How to Install the Cirrata Client:

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please disable your firewall before beginning the installation process:

Before you begin the Installation process it is very important that if you are running a firewall that you disable it. Once you have installed the Cirrata Client you can enable the firewall and train it to allow Cirrata to communicate.

 

1.              Open Internet Explorer on your local computer

2.              Got to www.cirrata.com

3.              Click on Support

4.              Under Software Updates and Enhancements, User Manuals click on Download

5.              An Enter Network Password window will appear - please enter the Cirrata Website Username and Password

a.       If you do not know the Cirrata Website Username and Password please call Cirrata customers service

6.              You should now be in the Cirrata Download Center

7.              Under the Cirrata Software Downloads click on The Cirrata Client - Version 01.xx

8.              When the File Download Window appears - hit Run

9.              Cirrata Setup will download and the Cirrata Setup Wizard will launch - hit Next

10.          The Cirrata License Agreement will appear - click on Accept and then hit Next

11.          The Select Destination Location Window will appear - hit Next or input an alternate location

a.  Do not change location unless you really need to

12.          The Ready To Install Window will appear - hit Install

13.          The Cirrata Client will now install

14.          When installation is complete select Launch Cirrata and then hit Finish

15.          The Cirrata Client configuration will now begin

16.          The Cirrata Credentials Window will now appear

a.       Input Appliance Name: (i.e. www.yourcompany.com)

b.       Input Port: (leave on 22)

c.       Input Username: your username

d.       Input Password: your password

e.       Hit Continue

17.          The Installing Progress Window will appear and will inform you that your credentials are being confirmed

a.       If you have installed the Cirrata Client in the past and have changed your Cirrata Password you will get the Active Username Window informing your Username is active. If you can confirm this then select the Override option

18.          If your installation is successful you will receive a notification window telling you that Cirrata has installed successfully

19.          Before completing the Installation Cirrata will require you to change your Password - please enter/re-enter a new Password

20.          You should now have the Cirrata Client loaded and configured - look for the Cirrata Icon in your system tray

Important Note:

Please make sure that if you have a firewall running on your computer that you set the rules to allow Cirrata to communicate. Most firewalls will prompt you when a new application is attempting to communicate from your computer.

 

If you are having trouble installing the Cirrata Client please uninstall and try again with the firewall disabled. Sometimes the firewall may interfere with the installation requiring an uninstall and reinstall.

 

Do not use the same Username and Password on more than one computer. All Cirrata clients must have unique Usernames and Passwords.

 

Remember: It is important that you are current with your Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office updates. Please go to Getting Started for instructions on how to check for updates.
