How to
Join a Web Conference or Access a Remote Desktop: Before
You Connect: 1. In order to connect to a Cirrata
Remote Desktop or Desktop Conference your computer must have the following: a. Java 5.0 or higher installed b. Port 22 must be open on your
network 2. If you want to validate whether
the abovementioned conditions are met you can test by going to your Cirrata
Home Page (i.e. www.yourcompany.com) a. At the bottom of the page check to
see if the Cirrata Copyright line is in a green font (this means Port 22 is
open). If it is in red font then port 22 is closed. b. Underneath the Cirrata Copyright
line your version of Java will be displayed. If you do not have Java
installed there will be no display and the Cirrata Copyright line will be in
black font. If
your computer has the Cirrata Client installed: 1. Open the Cirrata Tool Bar by clicking your mouse on
the Cirrata Icon in the Systems Tray 2. Select Desktop Access/Conferencing 3. Select Go To Desktop 4. Select Desktop Conferencing from your Cirrata Home Page 5. When the Cirrata Desktop Window
appears enter your authentication information:
i.
Enter the Desktop Name of the Session you wish to join
(10 through 99)
ii.
Enter the Desktop Session Password
iii.
hit Enter 6. The Cirrata Desktop Control Window
will open at the upper left hand corner of your desktop
i.
This Cirrata Desktop Control Window will control your Desktop Session
and cannot be closed during your session - however it can be minimized
to the Task Bar 7. A Security Warning Window
will appear asking for permission to download a Java Applet - Answer Yes or Always 8. Your Desktop Session should now
initiate and you should now have Desktop Access 9. If your Desktop session does not
initiate try closing all open windows and beginning again from the Cirrata
Toolbar 10. If the Desktop you are trying to
access is not available you will receive an error telling you the "Network
Connection is Not Available" or " Remote Side Closed
Connection" - check the Active Desktops on the Cirrata Tool Bar
to make sure the Desktop you are trying to access is available If
your computer does not have the Cirrata Client installed: 1.
Open Internet Explorer 2.
Got to your Cirrata Home
Page (i.e. www.yourcompany.com 3.
Select Desktop Conferencing from
your Home Page 4.
When the Cirrata Desktop Window
appears enter you authentication information:
i.
Enter the Desktop Name of the Session you wish to join
(10 through 99)
ii.
Enter the Desktop Session Password
iii.
hit Enter 5.
The Cirrata Desktop Control Window
will open at the upper left hand corner of your desktop
i.
This Cirrata Desktop Control Window will control your Desktop Session
and cannot be closed during your session - however it can be minimized to the
Task Bar 6.
A Security
