How to Use the Cirrata Folder Access Manager

Protected Directories - Lists the directories inside of your Public Folder that are protected

1.       Click on Protected Directories

2.       A list of all the Protected Directories inside of your Public Folder will appear

3.       Click on any of the listed Protected Directories to see which Users or Groups have access and what type of access they have

4.       If you want to change a User or the type of access they have check the appropriate box next to the User or Group and then hit the Protect It! Button to apply the change

5.       Note: Any sub-directories (child directories) will inherit the protections attributed to the parent directory. Child directories do not need to be protected separately unless you want to change the participants or rules.

Manage Directories - Allows you to protect existing directories or create new directories inside of your Public folder

1.       Click on Protected New Directories

2.       Click on Public to enter the Public Directory

3.       Click on down the folder tree until you find the folder you want to protect

4.       If you want to create a new directory enter a new directory name and hit Create

5.       Click on the new or existing directory name to select for protection

6.       Click on Protect It! To protect the directory

7.       Select Groups and Users that you want to have access to the protected directory

8.       Select Allow for full access and Read Only for read only access

9.       Hit Protect It! To apply the changes

10.   If you want to change the name of a Protected Directory you must change it within the Protect New Directories feature in Cirrata Folder Access Manager (you can also unprotect the directory, change the name, and then protect the directory)

Manage Users - Allows you to create and manage Users

1.       Click on Manage Users

2.       To add a new User enter a user name, email address and password and hit Add User

        NOTE: DO NOT USE BLANK SPACES OR ILLEGAL CHARACTERS IN THE USERNAME

3.       To Change a User's Password check the CPwd box next to the User, enter a new password and hit Change Password

4.       To Change a User's Email check the CEmail box next to the User, enter a new email address and hit Change Email

5.       Select "+IM" or "-IM" next to a User's name to enable or disable Cirrata Instant Messaging

6.       To Disable a User check the D/E box next to the User and hit Disable/Enable Users

7.       To Enable a disabled User repeat steps 1 thru 4

8.       To Delete a User check the Del box next to the User and hit Delete Users

9.       Global Notification can be selected to allow your Users to use the Cirrata Notification feature to notify every other User that belongs to a specific folder group

10.   If Global Notification is not selected Users will only be able to use Cirrata Notification to notify the owner of the Directory

Manage Groups - Allows you to create and manage User Groups

1.       Click on Manage Groups

2.       To create a new Group enter the Group name and hit Add Group

3.       To edit a Group click on the Group name as it appears on the list

4.       Select the Users you want to be included in the new Group

5.       Click Change Members
